Make Money Online Using Google Website Optimizer – Part 4

Change or Restore Pages in Google Website Optimizer

In this tutorial, you will learn how to change to an optimized page or restore your original page in the Google Website Optimizer experiment.

You will need:

A Google account

An active Google Website Optimizer experiment

Page or HTML editor

FTP access

Step 1: Log into Account

Sign in to your Google Website Optimizer account.

Step 2: Select Experiment

Once logged in, click on the experiment you’d like to work with.

Step 3: Stop Experiment

Before you can change to your optimized page, you’ll need to make sure you stop the experiment. To do this, click on the “stop” link at the top of the page.

Step 4: Choose Next Action

Because you will be unable to restart the experiment, you will be taken to a new page where you are asked to confirm the action. Select the second option and click the continue button.

Step 5: Choose Page to Continue Running

Here you will choose the most successful combinations page, which will be temporarily shown until you create and upload the permanent page. The original is marked by default so just choose one of the combinations listed below and save your changes.

Step 6: Save Settings

Next, you will see the Settings and Design page. Click to save changes.

Step 6: Save Settings

When ready to upload your optimized page, navigate to your completed experiment and click the uninstall link.

Now, using your text or html editor, you will uninstall the experiment tags from all pages including the original page, page variations, and the success page, if applicable.

Lastly, you will replace your original page with your newly created optimized page by using your FTP client to overwrite the original page.
